“Books- dying? Goodness no. Not only do books confound every prediction of their demise, but literary festivals flourish in small towns and big cities across the country. Henley Literary Festival quickly became known as one of the best. But like so many bright ideas, it started small, writes Sandra Carter.
Henley Literary Festival’s founder Sue Ryan recalls how the flourishing event started small. She said: “It began with a friends sitting around a kitchen table in Henley in 2006. I had attended several literary festivals and loved them, and thought rather naively that it would be a fun thing to do and Henley was the perfect place.”
