Jane Hawking to talk at Literary Festival

JANE HAWKING is to appear at this year’s Henley Literary Festival.

She is the first wife of Stephen Hawking and was portrayed by Felicity Jones in the film The Theory of Everything, which won three Baftas and two golden globes and an oscar for its star Eddie Redmayne.

The film, a box office hit on both sides of the Atlantic, is based on Mrs Hawking’s memoirs, Travelling To Infinity.

The author will be looking back on her life and career at the festival, which will take place from September 28 to October 4.

Tom Ryan, the festival’s programming director, said: “After our most successful year yet in 2014, we are determined to build on that and I am delighted that Jane Hawking accepted our invitation.”

Other speakers so far include novelists S J Watson and M C Beaton as well as broadcaster Gyles Brandreth, Green Party MP Caroline Lucas, columnist Will Hutton and comedian Helen Lederer.
