Covid-19 has, as with so many arts organisations, been catastrophic for Henley Literary Festival. It has decimated our anticipated income at a stroke and thrown our budgets into crisis.
In order to survive past this crisis and produce festivals in the future we need to raise significant funds.
The time will not be right for everyone to help, as many of you will also have been impacted by these unprecedented times. But we ask those who are able to support us to do so either by a donation or by becoming a Friend of Henley Literary Festival for £35, a Gold Friend for £100 or a Platinum Friend for £250.
We are proud of the contribution we have been able to make to the community over the last 14 years. As well as bringing award-winning novelists, sporting icons, poets, faith leaders, historians, entertainers, campaigners, children’s authors and – so far – three prime ministers to our town, we are delighted to have been joined by thousands of visitors and the national media. We have strived to keep ticket prices affordable – from £5 for our schools programme and £9 on average – and are delighted that so many retailers and restaurants report that during the Festival is their busiest week of the year. Now we turn to the community for help in ensuring the future of Henley Literary Festival in the form that we all love.
