Northumbrian detective Vera Stanhope is a fixture on the bestseller charts and on screen, where she is portrayed by Brenda Blethyn in ITV’s Vera. Her creator Ann comes to Henley with her 10th book in the series, The Rising Tide. Ann was this year awarded an OBE for services to reading and libraries, has more than 35 novels to her name and, of course, lives in Northumberland.
